Business Development Manager
About The Role:
Following the success of our South Island expansion, Tuatahi First Fibre is accelerating the next phase of strategic growth. We're looking for a commercially driven Business Development Manager to identify, influence and secure opportunities that expand our network across the South Island.
This isn't a traditional Business Development role. You'll engage with developers, councils, infrastructure partners and landowners, influencing major residential, commercial and community developments and positioning Tuatahi as the preferred fibre infrastructure partner.
Reporting to the Head of Sales & Strategic Business Development, you'll join a high-performing team and take ownership of opportunities from early engagement through to contract execution, helping deliver the digital infrastructure that will connect New Zealand for generations to come.
Here is what you can expect in your day-to-day:
• Identify, develop and secure strategic development opportunities that grow Tuatahi's network and customer base.
• Build trusted relationships with developers, councils, infrastructure partners, landowners and key industry stakeholders.
• Influence projects early to secure long-term commercial and connectivity outcomes.
• Develop business cases, negotiate commercial agreements and lead opportunities through to successful handover.
• Work closely with technical, commercial and delivery teams to turn opportunities into successful outcomes.
Skills and Experience Required:
You're a commercially astute relationship builder who enjoys creating opportunities, influencing decisions and delivering results in complex stakeholder environments.
Ideally, you'll have:
• Five or more years' experience in business development, strategic sales or a similar commercial role.
• A proven track record of securing complex commercial opportunities.
• Experience within infrastructure, utilities, telecommunications, property or land development.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen, including preparing business cases and commercial proposals.
• Excellent relationship management, negotiation and presentation skills.
• Experience working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
• Curiosity, resilience and a growth mindset.
